“I need these things too” – Carlos Alcaraz opens up about his Ibiza vacation, partying with friends after French Open triumph

Carlos Alcaraz recently discussed his getaway to Ibiza following his victory at the French Open. The Spaniard emphasized the significance of disconnecting from the sport periodically.

Alcaraz got the better of Alexander Zverev in an exhausting five-setter to win the 2024 French Open. With the win, the Spaniard became the youngest to clinch Grand Slams on three different surfaces.

Alcaraz, who has yet to start his grass tour, was on a much-deserved break, relishing time off after his Roland Garros triumph. At a recent press conference before the Cinch Open, the 21-year-old talked about his three-day vacation in Ibiza with friends.

”I had a few days of vacation, with a group of friends. I had a good time celebrating Roland Garros,” Carlos Alcaraz said. (via AS – translated from Spanish)

The three-time Grand Slam champion stated that having a break from the sport and devoting time to his friends and family helps him maintain his peak form.

“I need these things too. It is clear that each player is different, but for me, to have my best level I need to separate my personal life from tennis. Have my days off, be able to rest my mind, be with family and friends. Put the racket aside. It is a time that suits me very well,” he added.
